Used filters to kick start your business

By Evan Sykes

If you are working in the production or manufacturing industry then it's likely that you will understand exactly how important filters can be to this process. Being able to separate liquids and solids might seem like a fairly basic procedure, but having the right equipment which enables you to do this efficiently and safely is very important, especially if you are dealing with certain chemicals and substances.

When businesses are starting off it can often be difficult to find the finances to buy entirely new equipment and in this situation you may look at purchasing second hand equipment to help give your business this kick start. In many situations there is a wide range of good quality used equipment around, but if you are going to use this type of equipment then you need to ensure that you take the correct precautions and safety measures.

Ensuring that the used filters that you purchase have been thoroughly cleaned is incredibly important, and this means that you must remove any trace of chemicals or substances that have previously been used in the filter, aside from hygiene this procedure must be carried out to ensure that no chemical reactions can occur between substances that may be placed in the filter and substances that are already there.

Failure to properly clean the filter can lead to a whole host of potential problems and this can develop quickly into safety risks within the workplace, especially if the appropriate safety measures haven't been taken to ensure that the appropriate cleaning and testing has been done before the filter is used.

Employers must provide each employee with the opportunity to work in a safe and secure environment at all times and this means that adequate filters need to be used to ensure their safety. Failing this you could be eligible to make a compensation claim for negligence.
